Stop Spreading Baseless Rumour, I Have No Issue With Makinde – Oba Ladoja Slams Fayose Over Dethronement Allegation
Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, and Oba Rashidi Ladoja have dismissed the allegations by former Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose, about a plot to dethrone the Olubadan of Ibadanland.
Fayose had earlier alleged on social media that Governor Makinde was planning to remove Ladoja as the 44th Olubadan and that the monarch could face a query for allegedly not attending a recent chieftaincy elevation ceremony in Ibadan.
However, the Oyo State Government dismissed the claims, stating that no such plan was ever discussed or considered.
Reacting to the incident, the Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Prince Dotun Oyelade, described the allegation as false and politically motivated, insisting it should be disregarded.
He added that the government had no reason to interfere in traditional matters in the manner suggested and accused those behind the claim of spreading misinformation.
Also reacting, the media aide to the Olubadan, Adeola Oloko, said the report was a baseless rumour, stressing that there is no conflict between Governor Makinde and the monarch.
He maintained that there was no issue capable of causing tension between both parties and urged the public to ignore the speculation
