One of the three health workers abducted at a primary healthcare facility in Akure, Ondo State, has narrated her harrowing experience in the hands of her abductors.

The survivor, Omolabake Kayode, said the attackers arrived in a bus on the day of the incident and stormed into the Comprehensive Primary Health Centre in the Oke Ijebu area of Akure around 2am on Saturday, whisking her and two colleagues away while others scampered for safety.

Kayode said some staff attempted to hide in toilets but were dragged out, beaten and dispossessed of their mobile phones, adding that she and other victims were driven to a forest along the Akure-Ondo expressway shortly after the abduction.

According to her, the kidnappers stripped them naked and forced them to disclose their banking details, further revealing that they transferred money from their accounts before warning them not to look up or risk being killed.

Kayode disclosed that the assailants later abandoned them unclothed in the bush and drove off, noting that herself and other victims eventually found their way to a correctional facility in Olokuta, where officers alerted Amotekun operatives.

In response, the Amotekun Corps Commander, Adetunji Adeleye, confirmed their rescue, adding that the victims were receiving medical care.
