Nike Omoworare: SBO Project Clarifies OCF Endorsement Of Oyebamiji, Affirms Omoworare’s Strong Family, Political Backing

The Senator Babajide Omoworare Governorship Campaign Project has received calls of concern from family, friends and political associates of Senator Babajide Omoworare on the widely publicised endorsement of Alhaji Bola Oyebamiji by Oyetola Consultative Forum (OCF); a group formed by Rt. Hon Olanike Omoworare which took place at the AMBO Campaign Office, Ileri-Oluwa House, Ogo Oluwa, Osogbo on Wednesday 17th September 2026.

Most of the inquisitions have been on the assumed deterioration of fraternal relationship between our icon, Senator Babajide Omoworare who we promote as a forerunner in APC for the governorship ticket in addition to being a governorship hopeful in the forthcoming Osun 2026 governorship election and his sister Rt. Hon Olanike Omoworare, the founder of OCF who led the ratification by her group at the aforementioned event.

It has become necessary to clarify issues and put to rest the apprehensions expressed especially by some family members and close friends.

As far as this campaign is concerned, we clearly state that an occurrence like this is often not rare in circumstances where siblings have similar political trajectory. Family members are known to have passionately express differing political ideologies and relationships, to the extent that brothers and sisters are free to further their political vocations in opposing political parties. While the actions of Rt. Hon Olanike Omoworare could be seen as anti-filial, the SBO Project sees nothing wrong about her choice since our principal is a civil rights apostle and a democrat; she has only exercised her right of freedom of association.

We also want to note that her choice was not a surprise because she has been an ardent follower of our leader Alhaji Adegboyega Oyetola since year 2020 when she established OCF, from whom she has benefitted immensely.

It is a contemporary history that she was made the Director-General of the Osun State Liaison Office, Abuja in July 2021, a Commissioner in June 2022 and she currently holds two non-executive appointments, unquestionably at his behest. We did not find her actions against the run of play; it is expected that beneficiaries of her ilk would support Alhaji Bola Oyebamiji.

Let us state unequivocally that her choice does not startle those of us working on the SBO Project who are particularly familiar with the Omoworare political family. In January 2010, after our party asked Senator Babajide Omoworare to boycott the senatorial rerun election, and before the November 26, 2010 gubernatorial Ibadan Court of Appeal verdict, Rt. Hon. Nike Omoworare decamped to Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

In 2018, Rt. Hon Omoworare threw her support for Rt. Hon Lasun Yussuff against her brother on the ground that he employed her services as a Senior Legislative Assistant in the Office of the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Abuja.

Furthermore, we do not expect that this incidence will diminish the respect or shrink the love that Senator Babajide Omoworare has for his sister. We know that he will always support her personal dreams, enterprise and aspirations like he had always done up till 2022 when he contributed abundant resources to her unsuccessful House of Representative quest without recourse to the past, and at the expense of his own senatorial aspiration.

For the avoidance of doubt, the SBO Project did not foresee and did not bargain for her involvement in and support for our campaign at this stage, we were not going to depend on it, we did not budget for it and we shall definitely not miss it.

However, we will embrace and delight in her future contribution to the project at the appropriate time should she offer such.

In conclusion, we are glad to stress that Senator Babajide Omoworare enjoys an unflinching support of the entire Omoworare family.

We are also delighted that Mr. Segun Omoworare (Senator Omoworare’s brother), a campaign and election specialist, who was a former state executive council member of our party/tendency and who had served as a Director General of the party’s Door to Door Campaign platform on several occasions, is contributing extraordinarily to the SBO Project campaign.
