Aggressive Youth Developmental Plan: Youth Minister's Bid To Bring Dev To Nigerian Youth In Line With Renewed Hope Vision

By Comrade Adeboye Adebayo

In a determined stride toward actualizing President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, the Honourable Minister of Youth, Ayo Olawande, has just concluded a four-day official visit to the United Arab Emirates (UAE), a tour defined by high-impact engagements, bold diplomacy, and visionary leadership.

With his eyes firmly fixed on the future, Minister Olawande is not merely representing Nigerian youth abroad; he is architecting their place in the global innovation economy.

From Sharjah to Abu Dhabi and Dubai, the Minister’s engagements reflect an aggressive youth developmental plan rooted in global collaboration, digital transformation, and entrepreneurial empowerment under the Nigerian Youth Academy (NiYA); the flagship platform aimed at equipping over 7 million Nigerian youths with digital skills, entrepreneurship, civic leadership, and global access.

The visit began with a strategic dialogue at the Sharjah Entrepreneurship Center (Sheraa), where both parties explored partnerships in youth enterprise, incubation, and innovation. Sheraa, a key player in youth-led business development across the MENA region, aligns closely with NiYA’s vision, and the prospect of knowledge-sharing and innovation exchange holds massive potential for Nigeria’s entrepreneurial ecosystem.

In Abu Dhabi, Olawande engaged with Alef Education, a global leader in AI-powered learning systems. Discussions centered around personalized education, co-creating locally relevant content, and deploying adaptive digital platforms to reach underserved Nigerian communities. Alef’s advanced learning models could accelerate Nigeria’s ambition to bridge its educational gaps with 21st-century tools.

The Minister also met with leaders of Hub71, the UAE’s premier startup accelerator hub, where a blueprint for soft-landing Nigerian youth-led startups was explored, from access to global mentorship and capital, to innovation exchange programs that could power Nigeria’s rise as Africa’s next tech frontier.

The crescendo of the visit came during a high-level meeting with the Dubai Future Foundation (DFF), a prestigious global think-tank shaping the future through foresight, innovation, and strategic development.

Minister Olawande presented Nigeria’s youth development framework, highlighting efforts to train young Nigerians in AI, Robotics, and the Digital Economy.

The Foundation found deep alignment in mission and expressed interest in co-creating long-term programs that connect Nigerian youth to the future of work and innovation ecosystems worldwide.

In a moment rich with symbolism and honour, the DFF extended VIP access to the iconic Museum of the Future to the Nigerian delegation, a rare privilege, as the Museum is fully booked for the next three years.

This unprecedented gesture, personally approved by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Ruler of Dubai, underscores the growing global respect for Nigeria’s youth-forward trajectory.

Minister Olawande, notably the first Nigerian Minister hosted at the Museum since its 2020 opening, was presented with a limited edition torus-shaped specimen, the 37th of its kind, symbolically matching his age.

This honor cements his status as a bridge between today’s youth and tomorrow’s breakthroughs.

In a time where many speak of youth as the leaders of tomorrow, Ayo Olawande is ensuring they are empowered to lead today.

By burning old bureaucratic bridges and building new global ones, he is carving a path that will not only elevate Nigeria’s youth but also reposition the nation on the global innovation map.

With President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Vision as his compass, Minister Olawande is proving that youth development must not be a footnote; it must be a national priority, a foreign policy agenda, and a moral obligation.

Indeed, this is not just a visit. It is a movement.
