Osun West Senatorial Election: APC Holds Primary As Hussain Contests Unopposed

The Osun State All Progressives Congress (APC) has conducted its primaries in respect of the vacant Osun West Senatorial seat following the death of late Senator Isiaka Adeleke.
The primary which was postponed from Monday to Tuesday and finally Wednesday, saw Mudashir Hussain appeared as the candidate of the party unopposed.
The late Senator Isiaka Adeleke’s brother, Ademola Adeleke who was supposed to contest with Hussain some hours before the primary dumped the party for Peoples Democracy Party (PDP).
Adeleke resigned his membership of APC in a letter directed to the APC screening committee led by Hon. Sanusi Rikiji, Speaker, Zamfara State House of Assembly on Tuesday.
It would be recalled that the screening committee of the APC had earlier disqualified Hussain from contesting for the senatorial seat for his alleged inability to meet up with the party’s guidelines.
At the primary today, APC delegates from various Local Government Areas in the district trooped out to affirm Hussain as the party flag bearer in the by-election.
The LG areas include Ejigbo, Ede North , Ede South, Ayedire, Iwo Local Government Areas among others.
