He said Hajj was a complex exercise and a matter of religious obligation, hence the need for journalists to be objective in reporting its activities.

The NAHCON boss also appealed to the media not to rely on third party information in their daily reportage of the Hajj.

He added that “I really don’t envy the media team because you have a task of getting accurate information and making the best use of it.

“You are dealing with not only the pilgrims, but also relating with officials involved in the management of Hajj such as aviation experts, security agencies and others.

“Therefore, you have to disseminate the right information to the public and the pilgrims, who are the direct beneficiaries of such publicity.”

The Chairman of the 2017 Hajj Media Committee, Malam Ubale Musa, assured the commission of best coverage of the Hajj.

Ubale also promised to ensure that all grey areas that needed clarification from the commission were considered before going public
