Preserve Your Destiny Through Fasting, Prayer- Cleric
As Muslims faithful continue their Annual Ramadan fasting and prayer, the President of Ajagun Esin Consultative Forum (AECF), Professor Sabit Ariyo Olagoke has admonished adherents of all religions to preserve their destiny through fasting and prayers in order to ward off diabolical forces.
The Cleric gave the admonition on Tuesday in Ibadan while delivering Ramadan lecture titled, “The roles of Destiny and Faith in the Existence of Life,” which was organised by the State Secretary of All Progressives Congress (APC), Alhaji Mojeed Adekunle Olaoya.
Olagoke charged believers, regardless of their religious inclinations to note that living a pious life of truth weakens the enemies and prevents them from changing the right cause of life otherwise called destiny into a state of dislike called destination.
“Destiny can be restored through just worship with upright and exemplary lifestyles. Destiny becomes destination when we live corrupt lives and we refuse to give our lives committed totally to the cause of God, the Almighty Allah.
Olagoke who is the founder and Spiritual Head of Shafaudeen In Islam Worldwide, Ibadan pointed out that nobody was destined to be a lunatic or to live a short life except some things went wrong adding, “instead of correcting the situation, such people resign to fate.”
He further explained that destination was human and social construct “destiny is divine and nurturable through faith backed up by just worship through just religions”.
Olagoke, a scholar in comparative religion added “from the perspective of Jesus Christ,40 days of fasting was meant to develop high resistance against the ploy of Satan and to be able to do things according to the will of God and to complete the assignment given to him by God. He,Jesus Christ equally recommended fasting and prayer with strong seed of faith to have restored destiny”.
The Organiser of the lecture,Hon Olaoya commended the guest lecturer who he described as a cleric who is very passionate with work of God despite being a Chief Lecturer at the Federal Polytechnic Ilaro in Ogun state
The politician said that he was impressed when he heard of the commitment of Olagoke to spiritual and physical effort which the Cleric was making to sustain religious harmony and peaceful coexistence in the country adding that he should not be deterred from his focus.
