The presiding judge, Justice Emeka Nwite of the Federal High Court in Abuja has announced Friday, October 25 for an update on the health condition of detained Binance executive, Tigran Gambaryan, following his absence at his scheduled trial continuation.
It would be recalled that Gambaryan is facing $35.4 million in money laundering charges brought against him by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
Gambaryan was not present in court, and both the defense and prosecution teams were unaware of the reason for his absence.
CityMirrorNews gathered that Gambaryan is currently receiving treatment at a hospital as the correctional center provide more details about his health.
A representative from the correctional facility said to the court, “My Lord, the 2nd defendant is very sick, and we will not be able to produce him in court today.”
With both parties in agreement, Justice Nwite adjourned the matter to Friday, October 25, for an update on Gambarayan’s health condition.
