NGO Urges Govt To Provide Better Living Conditions For Women, Children
-As Fadeyemi Foundation Launched In Osun To Cater For Orphans, Less Privileged
A Non Governmental Organization, Fadeyemi Foundation has appealed to the government and other policy makers to provide better living condition for vulnerable children.
Founder of Fadeyemi Foundation, Mrs Adelowo Fadekemi Adelabu made the appeal during official launch of the foundation in Ede, Osun State.
According to Adelabu there was the need for government, policy makers and other wealthy individuals to come to the aid of orphans and vulnerable people so as to be useful for society.
She, however, called on government and critical stakeholders on the need for them to support and establish policies and programs that would promote innovative ideas by Nigerians.
“I want to call upon government at all tiers and critical stakeholders to support and establish policies and programs that will support and promote innovative ideas by Nigerians”.
On why she establish the foundation, Adelabu said Fadeyemi Foundation, was founded mainly to cater for the needy especially orphan and vulnerable people in the society.
She said: “I am deeply honoured to address this esteemed gathering at the official launch of Fadeyemi Foundation, a Non governmental organization at Ikepunye Eyesemitan Conference Hall Campyoung, Ede, Osun State.
“As a Convener of this program, I stand here today with a profound sense of responsibility and commitment to advancing the agenda of sustainability and inclusivity of the less privileged to benefit from policy frameworks and development initiatives.
“We acknowledge that true sustainability can only be achieved through genuine collaboration and Building Supportive Orphanage Home For Less Privilege to thrive in our society.
“The aim and objectives of this foundation is to offer quality living standard and basic education to the orphans, vulnerable children and equip the community with the skills and knowledge to overcome poverty and be educated.
“Also, to build a facility that will accommodate many more deserving children”, she said.
She appreciated her husband for his unalloyed support in ensuring that the her vision in establishing the foundation came to fruition rather sooner than expected.
“I extended my heartfelt gratitude to my darling husband, Mr Adelowo Adeyemi Adegoke, benefactors and organisers of this event for their support towards achieving quality goals to establish a Foundation that will contribute to the growth and development of Nigeria.
Speaking on the theme of the program, “Building supportive orphanage home for the less privileged”, the convener said that the program is aimed at offering quality living standard and basic education to the orphans, vulnerable children and equip the community with the skills and knowledge to overcome poverty.
“I am confident that this program will yield actionable insights and innovative solutions that will propel us closer to our shared vision of a prosperous and sustainable world for present and future generations.
“Finally, let us reaffirm our collective responsibilities and commitment to leaving no one behind in our pursuit of quality education, conducive environment and sustainable development.
“There are lots of people with fantastic ideas that can develop the nation but finding it difficult to achieve their dreams. Together, let us harness the power of love, unity and progress to build a future that is truly inclusive, resilient and sustainable for all”.
Other speakers at the event including; deputy director, Ministry of women affairs, children and social welfare, Deborah Oluwayomi, the wife, osun head of service, Dr Mojisola Aina, among others described the event as a wake up call for the government and critical stakeholders to come to the aid of orphans and vulnerable citizens.
The event also featured a lot of entertainment, discussion, awareness, presentation of food items and cash gift to the widows as well as official launch of Fadeyemi helping and care Foundation.
