Akeredolu Was Dynamic Champion Of justice, Security, Equity And True Federalism- YPF
A socio-cultural political group, Yoruba Progressives Forum (YPF) has commiserated with the family of the late former Governor of Ondo state, Rotimi Akeredolu over his demise.
YPF National Coordinator, Alhaji Lateef Olalekan who led other members of the group to Ibadan residence of the late former governor described the Akeredolu as a brave , courageous and dynamic politician during his lifetime.
Olalekan in his condolence message to the Akeredolu’s family described his demise as monumental loss to the Yoruba nation and Nigeria at large.
According to YPF National Coordinator, the roles Akeredolu played in the sustainability of Nigerian democracy and security of life and property of the citizens, especially South Western states will continue to linger in the memory of the people of south-west states.
“Arakunrin Akeredolu was a fearless politician and a brave human right lawyer whose many families have been relieved from the bondage of oppressors who were as a result of their wealth oppressed the common people.”
Olalekan further said that the courage and dynamism of Akeredolu found recognition in his emergence as the Chairman of the South-West Governors Forum, a position that he deployed ceaselessly to champion justice, security, equity and true federalism.
“The towering political and legal luminary bold step in rejigging the nation’s security architecture has yielded tremendous results when southern states were invaded by the bandits.
“Akeredolu was dynamic champion of justice, security, equity and true federalism.
“He capped this record of professional excellence with distinguished service as a public servant and administrator, winning two consecutive terms as the elected Governor of Ondo State.
“We mourn him deeply, and pray for the repose of his soul. May the Almighty God grant his family and loved ones the fortitude to bear this sad and untimely loss,” he said.
Responding on behalf of the family, Prof. Wole Akeredolu, a younger brother to the late former governor appreciated the group for commiserating with them.
