A family source who pleaded anonymity disclosed this to our correspondent this morning, stating that a negotiation is ongoing between the family and the gunmen.
The Special Adviser to the Nasarawa State Governor on Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Haruna Kassimu, confirmed yesterday the abduction of the council boss and one other at Ningo village at about 8:30 p.m. on January 1st, 2024.
Meanwhile, the Police Command in Nasarawa State has said it is investigating the abduction of Safiyanu Isa-Andaha, Chairman, Akwanga Local Government Area, including Adamu Umar Tanko, who was also kidnapped along with the council chairman.
The Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) in the state, DSP Ramhan Nansel, told our correspondent in Lafia on Tuesday that the Commissioner of Police in the state, Umar Nadada, has mobilised personnel for the possible rescue of the chairman and one other person kidnapped.
“The police, in collaboration with other security agencies, are currently on the trail of the kidnappers to ensure the release of the council chairman and the other victim.
