Lasun Yusuf Is A Prodigal Son, ‘ll Be Accepted If He Apologizes – Osun APC Vice Chairman
The Vice Chairman of the All Progressives Congress in Osun State, Alhaji Azeez Issa Adesiji has said the party would accept back to its fold the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Lasun Yussuff if he apologizes.
Adesiji said the party will always remain resolute on its decisions as well as standing firm on rules to abide by its members.
The former Ilesa West Local Government executive secretary stated this on a radio programme monitored by CityMirrorNews in Osogbo on Monday.
Adesiji He described Yussuff as a prodigal son who will come back to “beg” party leaders for his un-loyalty and betrayal of confidence.
He said: “Lasun Yussuff is someone who has disobeyed the party in becoming the Deputy Speaker, although all party men have the equal right and capability to contest for these positions but not at the defiance to guidelines.
“He is a member of our party and if he decides to apologize to us, we will accept him back……..He is a prodigal son, he will be definitely accepted back into the fold if he begs and retracts his actions.”
The APC chieftain noted that claims by a party leader from Osogbo, Fatai Diekola that he brought Governor Rauf Aregbesola from Lagos to Osun in 2005 is a false claim.
“All what Diekola is saying is false. In 2006 when he claim to have brought Aregbesola from Lagos, he was still in the PDP, how could someone dictate the pace in the party he has not joined”, he said.
Adesiji said that the list of local government caretaker committee members sent to the State House of Assembly recently by the Governor is all encompassing, devoid of any sentiments in the different camps of the party.
He said the inability of the party’s led administration to conduct council elections in the state was because of a pending court case which was just resolved by the Supreme Court.
Adesiji expressed hopes that before the end of 2017, the elections would be conducted.
“What stopped us from conducting the elections was a pending court case which was resolved by the Supreme Court a month ago.
“We are a party that abides by the constitution, we will always do what the law says…….We should have inaugurated another set of caretaker excos since but we wanted the newly created local councils, area offices and administrative offices to be fully operational before we have another set.
“I can assure you that Mr Governor will do what is right and before the end of the year, we will have the elections,” Alhaji Adesiji submitted.
