PCN Suspends Four Pharmacists Over Professional Misconduct

The Pharmacy Council of Nigeria (PCN), has suspended four Pharmacists from practice and strongly reprimanded one pharmacy over professional misconducts, by its Tribunal sitting in Abuja.

Registrar/Secretary of the Tribunal, Pharm. Ibrahim Babashehu Ahmed, noted that five Pharmacists who were tried before the Tribunal were all convicted and passed sentences passed on them.

He said: Pharm. Fidelis Ogonna Okenwa was found guilty of professional misconduct as a pharmacist and the Tribunal ordered the Registrar to suspend the pharmacist from practice for the period of 3 years.

“Pharm. Nwakpuma Richard Nwophe; the Tribunal found the Respondent guilty of professional misconduct as a pharmacist and the Tribunal ordered the Registrar to suspend the pharmacist from practice for the period of 12 months.

Pharm. Bukonla Temitope Odubiro found guilty of professional misconduct as a pharmacist and the Tribunal ordered the Registrar to suspend the pharmacist from practice for the period of 3 years.

“Pharm. Daniel Aghanemuzor found guilty of act of infamous conduct in professional capacity as a pharmacist and the Tribunal ordered the Registrar to suspend the pharmacist from practice for the period of 3 years.

“Pharm. Chigozie Chimaobi Sunday; the complainants withdrew the two petitions against the pharmacist before the Tribunal. The Tribunal however looked at the grave circumstances surrounding the petitions and made order to the Registrar to reprimand him by way of writing strong letters of warning to him, the Respondent.”
