Sports Agency Scouts For 100 Talented Youths In Osun For Opportunities Abroad
A scouting agency in Africa, Dynamic African Stars, has stormed Osun to search for talented youths in sports and various careers with the aim of exposing them to opportunities abroad.
Addressing journalists in Osogbo, an official of the agency and the Technical Director of Liway Football Club, Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, Mr Muhammed Mustapha said the agency had invited youths to display their talents in sports and other vocations and would be picking one hundred of them for international opportunities.
The sports agent said a lot of people across the country have benefited from the initiative and he took the scouting project tagged “Sports and More,” to Osun to discover talents and connect them to international agencies that would engage them.
Mustapha said the agency would be partnering with the State Government and stressed that sports is a money spinner career that stakeholders should tap into.
“We are here to unveil a project call ‘Sports and More’. The aim of the project is to empower the youths of Osun State; first, through sports and other careers including fashion designing, barbing, weldering among others.
“What we want to do is categorically 8 percent sports and after examining critically, we thought it is wise also to use our connections to help the youths of Osun State on securing jobs that they will use to fall back to the society and build the state.
“So when I am talking about jobs, I’m not talking about jobs in Nigeria, I am talking about international jobs and before we commence this, we have traveled so many countries, I have been to Kuwait, Qatar etc and we have built relationships with organisations and companies.
“Now, we want to come back home and help our youths, to connect them with all these companies in one way or the other. It not only about football, but definitely, when we say sports, sport presently is the third religion we have in the universe.
“When we talk sport everybody comes out, it means it is the key to unity. So we are using sport as a platform, of course as a club owner, we have a scouting event in our project of which we have started in Ile-Ife, Ilesa and Osogbo.
“In the area of football, we must scout for the best and aside from that we will collaborate with individuals and companies that are ready to partner with our organization in empowering the youths of Osun State and our plan and focus is to be empowering and connecting 100 youths from Osun State every year to their dreams in sports and more. We will touch everywhere in Osun,” he assured.
The agency had carried out the scouting project in Ile-Ife on Friday and Saturday at the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife and would continue with Ilesha on Sunday. Youths who want to display their talents in the scouting event have been asked to assemble at Ilesa Grammar School between the hours of 9am and 6pm. The grand finale of the project would hold in Oshogbo, Osun State capital at the Osogbo Township Stadium on Monday at thesame time.
