Osun Deputy Gov Endorses 2018 Osun SWAN Sports Merit Awards
As preparation towards the 2018 edition of the Osun SWAN Sports Merit Awards gathers storm, the Osun state Deputy Governor, Mr. Benedict Gboyega Alabi has thrown his weight behind the success of the program by endorsing it in his office.
The endorsement of the OSSM Awards by the Sports Loving Deputy Governor happened during his investiture as Patron of the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN), Osun State Chapter at his Abeere’s Office in Osogbo.
Describing it as a welcome development, Mr. Benedict Adegboyega Alabi said he is delighted to be involved in such an innovation and promises to give the necessary supports needed to make the program a success.
” It is a great idea and we look forward to it and also the development of Sports in the State. People who have worked so hard to see sports develop in the state and beyond surely needs to be rewarded and am glad about it”
Also speaking the Chairman of the Award Planning Committee, Olayinka Olawole praised the Deputy Governor for his continuous supports to sports men and women in the state and also task him to do more.
He also said this year’s award promises to be one of its kind.
“ We are proud of our achievements so far and we look forward to a better OSSM Awards on the 10th of February.
“The award is designed to honour those personalities who have rendered outstanding meritorious services to the development of sports in the state and beyond and no doubt the selection committee has picked those who truly deserve the accolades.
The event is billed to take place at a specially organised luncheon on Sunday the 10th of February 2019 at the prestigious Atlantis Civic Event Centre Osogbo by 12 noon.
