Hon Elliot Adeyemi, the caretaker Chairman of Ede North Local Government Area of Osun State, on Friday, restated his determination to impact positively on the development and people of his local government, as he inspects ongoing rehabilitation works of Federal Polytechnic Road in Ede.
CityMirrorNews reports that Adeyemi had embarked on the rehabilitation of the Timi Market/Ede Poly road, which has been in a deplorable condition for years, few weeks after assuming office.
The council chairman expressed happiness and thank God for helping him embark on the reconstruction work.
He also vowed to be more committed to the welfare of his people in Ede.
He said he would do more to impact positively, stressing that the governor of the state, Mr Gboyega Oyetola has set the pace for development across the state which, as the Chairman of a local government, intends to replicate in the council for the benefit of the people.
He noted that Oyetola’s aggressive approach to industrialization is an inspiration to changing Osun State’s narrative from a civil servant state.
“Before now, the road was in a deplorable state, as commercial and private vehicles found it very difficult to ply, but with the current grading, vehicular movement have become faster and smoother.
“I was among the 69 appointed local government caretaker Chairmen swore in by the Executive Governor of Osun,
Gboyega Oyetola on Monday, July 12.
I hit the ground running, by swinging into action, with the rehabilitation of the Isibo/Yidi road, which had been in a deplorable condition over the years.
“After that, I deemed it necessary to rehabilitate Federal Polytechnic Road from the Timi Market to Federal Polytechnic gate. The road as a matter of fact, is the most deteriorated road in the town

“Rehabilitating this road will also help give people living in the areas, a sense of belonging, so that they will not think that the local government has abandoned them.”
He therefore urged the people of the council area to continue to support the administration of Governor Gboyega Oyetola and ensure his victory in the coming election, saying Governor Oyetola really meant well for the people of Ede and that’s why he has been ensuring the people of the town enjoy dividend of democracy.

Mrs Salawudeen said the road has been in comatose over the years, saying with the rehabilitation of the roads projects embarked by the Chairman, there is going to be a rapid development.
