Osun LG Commissioner, Banik Praises Chief Akande @81
Osun State Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Prince Adebayo Adeleke (Banik) has described the former National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and former Governor of the state, Chief Bisi Akande as a pillar of progressive politics and advocate of good governance.
In his congratulatory message to him on his 81th birthday, Adeleke said, Chief Akande is a commander of respect and honour who has given his best to the service of the people, particularly in progressive politics.
According to him, the relevance of the former governor in politics ever since the old Oyo State was because he has integrity and has always given his life to serve the people.
He said, Akande’s advocacy for a true federalism was another testimony that he wants the best for the people of Nigeria, saying he is man worthy of celebration by all.
The commissioner also noted that if not for the Akande’s uprightness, truthfulness, honesty and commitment to the service of people, he, just like some other of his age, would have been relegated to the background in politics.
According to him, the fact that Akande is still being consulted for advice, resolution of disputes and consultation by those at the helms of affairs, both at the states and national levels was a strong evidence of his service to the people.
He said: “Chief Akande is always a force to reckon with going by the integrity he has possessed over the years through uprightness and advocacy for good governance, as well as the impact he made when he was the governor of Osun.
“He has remained an example that his younger ones are always willing to emulate for them to succeed in their various endeavours particularly in politics.
“His love for younger ones has scored him a lot of points and earned him an appellation of Baba Omo Kekeke”, Adeleke noted.
He then congratulated the former governor and prayed that he celebrates more years on earth with sound health.
