Osun Chief Whip Congratulates New LGEAs, Commends Gov Oyetola For Commitment To Functional Education
The Chief Whip of the State of Osun House of Assembly, Mr Tunde Olatunji wants newly appointed Local Government Area Education Officers to work conscientiously in order to actualise the resolve of Governor Gboyega Oyetola to make education more functional and valued added to the society.
In a congratulatory message to the newly appointed officers in Ife North Local Government and Ife North East Local Council Development Area, Mr Olatunii described them as those who had been thoroughly screened as possessing the required skill to deliver on the mandates.
He urged them to see their appointments as call to service in a critical sector at a critical time and not just a mere political appointment or compensation for party patronage.
The legislator commended the Governor for his gender sensitivity which manifested in the choice of 17 women appointed, a development which he said would in no small measure uplift women, encourage young girls and raise the social bar that women are imbued with capacity that need to be explored.
“This will promote girl child education, change the perspectives of many parent on the values they hitherto attached to the girl child and invariably, this is a win win for the society because the quality of the female population impact significantly on the economic index of any society”.
Mr Olatunii who initiated and has been promoting the ” Tunde Goes to Teach ” programme, aimed at motivating students and teachers in the state, also lauded the Governor in the choice of individuals appointed, in view of their competence and extensive experience in the education sector.
According to him, ” I am full of hopes that this will have indelible mark on the basic education system, which global attention has recently shifted to due to its influence on poverty eradication globally “
