Oyetola stated further that despite the harsh economic situation which the Covid-19 pandemic has caused, his government will continue to put smiles on the faces of the people by ensuring that they enjoy the dividends of democracy.
He said the restoration of electricity to Cele/Ako community is part of the resolve of his administration to take growth and development to all the nooks and crannies of the state in the shortest possible time as promised to the people.
According to the governor, “Apart from security, one of the primary reasons why government is in place is to develop the society. As a government, we are ready to take development to every nook and cranny of our state.
“This is our commitment to the people who voted us into office, it is for this reason we are in office and we will continue to do all we can to put smiles on the faces of our people no matter the challenges we face.
“Sadly, the Coronavirus pandemic has affected the global economy and our state is also feeling the heat, monthly allocation from the federation account is dropping on a monthly basis, IGR is not coming in as expected because most businesses are closed. But despite all these issues, the welfare of our people remains paramount”. Oyetola stated.
Earlier, the obviously elated Chairman of Cele Ako community landlord association, Pastor Raphael Oyewole who led other residents on the visit expressed appreciation to the governor for helping to restore electricity back to their community after many years in darkness.

He thanked the governor for keeping his promise to the people of Cele Ako community during his governorship campaign tour to the area, while requesting for a polling unit for the area because of the ever increasing population of the community.
He said, “To say we are happy is an understatement, we can’t fully express how happy we are right now. For a community that has been in darkness for many years to now have electricity, you can imagine the feeling.
“We are happy that God has used Governor Oyetola and the Commissioner for Finance, Mr Oyebamiji for us. Businesses that were dead are back and new ones are springing up. This is a matter of promise kept, we are happy and grateful to our Governor”.
