Akeredolu Appoints Ondo NUJ Correspondents’ Chairman As SSA On Media, Publicity

Ondo state governor, Oluwarotimi Akeredolu has approved the appointment of Mr. Ojo Oyewamide, the Chairman, Ondo State Correspondents Chapel of the Nigeria Union of Journalists and the Correspondent of the Daily Independent newspaper as his Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity.
Akeredolu said the appointment which takes immediate effect, is aimed at strengthening his media team.
This was contained in a press statement issued by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Mr. Segun Ajiboye and made available to journalists on Wednesday in Akure.
Akeredolu also approved Mr. Dapo Aruwajoye as his Senior Special Assistant on Broadcast Communications.
Both appointments according to Ajiboye are with immediate effect.
The two appointees are graduates of English Studies of the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife. Oyewamide started his career as a Journalist with the then Comet Newspaper.
He also had a brief stint with National Mirror before joining Daily Independent Newspaper as the Ondo State Correspondent before his appointment. He is the current chairman of the Correspondents Chapel, State Council of the NUJ.
Aruwajoye, who also holds a Masters Degree in Media and Globalisation from the Nottingham Trent University in the United Kingdom, was Press Secretary (Electronics) to Governor Akeredolu.
He had worked in Channels Television and Continental TV before joining the governor’s media team.
Governor Akeredolu congratulates the new appointees and charges them to discharge their duties diligently.
