Former PDP Financial Secretary Quits Party
A former National Youth Leader and Financial Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Rt. Hon. Abdullahi Hussaini MaiBasira, has resigned his membership of the party.
MaiBasira, in a resignation letter dated December 22, and addressed to the PDP ward chairman of Tudun Wada South Ward, Chanchaga Local Government Area of Niger State, said his decision takes immediate effect.
In the letter, he expressed gratitude to the party for giving him the opportunity to serve in various capacities over the years, describing the decision to leave as “painstaking”.
Although the former PDP chieftain did not state specific reasons for his resignation, he cited what he described as “very obvious circumstances and asphyxiating realities”.
His exit is seen as a significant development within the PDP in the state, given his roles and influence within the party’s youth and political structures at both state and national levels.
MaiBasira is yet to formally disclose his next political move. However, party sources said he may be heading to the African Democratic Congress (ADC), amid speculation linked to his longstanding support for former Vice President Atiku Abubakar.
