Rt Hon. Lasun Yussuf Calls For Unity, Progress As Thousands Join PDP In Osun

The atmosphere at the Osun State PDP Secretariat in Osogbo was electric on Wednesday as the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) formally welcomed thousands of enthusiastic decampees from the Omisore Youth Support Forum (OYSF) into its fold.

This historic event marked a renewed momentum for the party as the decampees, mainly youths, declared their unwavering support for the re-election of His Excellency, Senator Ademola Nurudeen Jackson Adeleke come 2026.

In a remarkable show of unity and purpose, the group was officially renamed the Adeleke Youth Support Forum (AYSF) — a testament to their collective resolve to align with the people-oriented vision of the Adeleke administration.

While addressing the jubilant crowd, Rt. Hon. Lasun Yussuf, former Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives and ECOWAS First Deputy Speaker, gave a passionate speech that resonated with all in attendance.

He described the people of Osun as “fantastic and resilient,” not just within the PDP but across all political affiliations.

Hon. Lasun praised the leadership acumen of Hon. Sunday Bisi, the Osun State PDP Chairman, for his unrelenting efforts in unifying the party and creating a solid foundation for victory in future elections.

He charged other party leaders and stakeholders to emulate the Adeleke Dynasty by using their influence, affluence, and goodwill to bring more progressives into the PDP.

In his wise counsel, Hon. Lasun urged the new members and the youth not to live in fear or let poverty dictate their political direction.

He emphasized that the 2026 Gubernatorial Election is not just another contest, but a pivotal moment to consolidate PDP’s leadership and return Osun State to the path of sustainable growth and inclusive governance.

The event also witnessed the presence of notable PDP dignitaries including Hon. Ibukun Fadipe (IBK), members of the State Working Committee, all Local Government executive chairmen, Party Chairmen across the state, and other loyal stakeholders whose contributions and presence reaffirmed the unity and strength of the party in Osun State. Their collective show of solidarity added color and strength to the success of the gathering.

He further appealed to those still in opposition to have a change of heart and join hands with Governor Ademola Adeleke, whose achievements and people-centered approach continue to transform Osun State in record time.

He noted that unity, not division, will elevate the state and give every citizen a chance to thrive.

We heartily congratulate the decampees for their bold and wise decision to pitch their tent with the PDP. We also extend our appreciation to the PDP State Chairman, Hon. Sunday Bisi, and all stakeholders for making this event a reality and for their continued efforts to reposition the party.
