He continued his University education in the United States of America.
The Humble Beginning
Taiwo Ayantunji, a renowned human rights activist and pro-democracy advocate, hails from Iree, Boripe Local Government Area of Osun State, Nigeria. Born about forty years ago into the family of Late Alhaji and Alhaji Sulaiman Ayantunji, Taiwo’s life has been shaped by his humble beginnings and a strong passion for education and social justice.
Taiwo’s father, Alhaji Ayantunji popularly known as “Asalatu”, was a respected politician known for his discipline and integrity. He played a significant role in Osun State’s political landscape, particularly in the South West region. His father’s influence instilled in Taiwo the importance of public service and the value of fighting for the rights of others.
Taiwo’s love for education began at a young age. He attended Answarudeen Primary School, Iree where he laid the foundation for his academic journey. He then proceeded to the prestigious Baptist High School, Iree, where he developed a strong sense of discipline and a keen interest in science and technology. After completing his secondary education, Taiwo gained admission to study Science Laboratory Technology (SLT) at Osun State Polytechnic, Iree.
Born into a polygamous home, Taiwo’s early life was marked by humility and a strong sense of responsibility. His parents’ emphasis on education and moral values shaped his character and instilled in him a desire to make a positive impact in his community.
