Olorunda LG Chairman, Kudayisi Commiserates With Victims Of Rainstorm

The Chairman of Olorunda Local Council, Alhaji Kunle Kudaisi has commiserated with victims of the rainstorm that ravaged parts of Osogbo at the weekend.

The heavy rainstorm claimed one life and left several others injured in Osogbo following the collapse of a tree and an electric pole on a shop in the Sabo area.
The rainstorm destroyed properties worth millions of naira.

The Chairman who was on an assessment tour of the affected areas said no effort would be spared to ameliorate the losses suffered by victims.

Kudaisi said the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) was also being notified about the disaster.

The Chairman said detailed report about the devastation caused by the incident was being compiled by the Council with a view to getting substantial assistance from the Agency.

According to him “We are already working on palliatives to give succour to the victims. On behalf of President Bola Tinubu and the Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Alhaji Adegboyega Oyetola, we identify with the victims”.

Some of the areas visited by the Chairman included Sabo, OtaEfun, Okefia, Igbona and Owope areas.

Many of the houses in these areas had their rooftops blown up while several electricity cables were lying on the ground disrupting power supplies.

The authorities of Olorunda Local Government Area visited the victims at the hospital and assured them of government support. The victims and their relatives expressed gratitude to the Chairman of Olorunda Local Government and his team for the visit.
