Shehu Sani Picks APC Forms For Kaduna Central Senatorial Seat
Former Senator representing Kaduna Central, Shehu Sani, has picked the Expression of Interest and Nomination forms of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to contest the Kaduna Central Senatorial District seat.
Senator Sani was the first to pick the nomination forms in Kaduna, amidst wide speculations of the strong backing of the state.
The initiative signals his formal triumphant entry into the race ahead of the forthcoming 2027 elections, as political activities intensify within the ruling party.
Sani, a rights activist-turned politician, previously represented Kaduna Central in the 8th Senate, and remains a prominent voice in Nigeria’s political landscape.
His decision is expected to shape the dynamics of the contest in the district, given his grassroots appeal and political experience.
Party stakeholders and observers say the development could heighten competition among aspirants seeking the APC ticket in Kaduna Central.
Earlier, our correspondent reported that the sale of forms will run from April 25 to May 2, 2026, while submission of completed forms closes on May 4, 2026.
Screening of aspirants is scheduled for May 6 to May 9, 2026, covering State Houses of Assembly, House of Representatives, Senate, governorship, and presidential aspirants in phases.
Primary elections will begin on May 15, 2026, starting with the House of Representatives, followed by the Senate, State Houses of Assembly, governorship, and presidential primaries, ending on May 23, 2026.
