Oyebamiji Celebrates Oyetola at 72, Says ‘You Have Written Your Name In The Sand Of Time’

The All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate in the August 15, 2026 governorship election in Osun State, Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji, has described the Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Dr Isiaka Adegboyega Oyetola, as an exemplary leader who has written his name in the sand of time through years of selfless service to humanity.

Oyebamiji, popularly known as AMBO, stated this in a birthday message issued in Osogbo on Monday to celebrate Oyetola, a former governor of Osun State, who clocked 72.

He described Oyetola as his boss, mentor, father and destiny-helper, praising the minister for his contributions to public service, the development of Osun State and the growth of Nigeria’s maritime sector.

According to him, Oyetola has demonstrated exemplary leadership and integrity in both the public and private sectors, adding that his track record of service had earned him respect across different spheres of life.

Oyebamiji, who served as Managing Director of Osun State Investment Company Limited (OSICOL) and as Commissioner for Finance under the administrations of former governors Rauf Aregbesola and Oyetola, also served as Special Adviser to the Minister of Marine and Blue Economy before his appointment as Managing Director of the National Inland Waterways Authority (NIWA).

He said Oyetola’s fatherly role, mentorship, compassion and benevolence had contributed significantly to his personal and professional growth.

“Your genuine love, compassion and empathy for mankind are qualities I deeply treasure. Your fatherly roles, mentorship and benevolence have redefined my destiny and contributed immensely to where I am today,” Oyebamiji said.

The APC chieftain recalled Oyetola’s service as Chief of Staff to Governor Rauf Aregbesola, his tenure as governor of Osun State and his current role as Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, describing him as “a noble leader of repute who leads with the fear of God and love for all.”

Oyebamiji also commended Oyetola for what he described as his contributions to improving Nigeria’s revenue profile and transforming the maritime sector.

He said, “As a man of proven track records in both public and private sectors, you have indeed demonstrated quality leadership on all fronts. As a man of integrity, discipline, loyalty, sacrifice and honesty, your immense contributions to the growth and upliftment of our party and its faithful cannot be quantified.”

He added that Oyetola’s experience and contributions to governance had continued to impact positively on humanity.

“With a heart full of joy, praises and gratitude, I heartily rejoice and felicitate my boss, our leader, mentor, father and destiny-helper, the former Governor of our dear state and the current Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, His Excellency, Dr Isiaka Adegboyega Oyetola, CON, on the occasion of his 72nd birthday,” he said.

Oyebamiji prayed that Almighty Allah would continue to uphold Oyetola and his family, grant him good health and longevity, and enable him to continue rendering selfless service to humanity.
