Birthday: Aremo Hails Wole Oke’s Legislative Contributions, Urges Renewed Focus On National Development

Former Special Adviser on Youth and Sports Affairs under the administration of Gboyega Oyetola, Adegboyega Abdulateef Adelabu Aremo, has commended the contributions of Hon. Wole Oke to Nigeria’s legislative process, calling for sustained commitment to policies that address pressing national challenges.

In a statement issued on Tuesday, Adelabu described Oke as a lawmaker whose years in the National Assembly reflect experience, institutional knowledge, and a deep engagement with governance issues, particularly in areas of financial accountability.

“At a time when Nigerians are increasingly demanding transparency, accountability, and effective representation, Rt. Hon. Wole Oke’s experience in legislative oversight remains relevant to strengthening democratic institutions,” Adelabu said.

He noted that Nigeria’s current socio-economic realities require lawmakers to move beyond routine legislative duties and prioritise policies that directly improve citizens’ welfare.

Adelabu stressed that lawmakers must play a more active role in ensuring prudent management of public resources, noting that effective oversight remains key to restoring public trust.

While acknowledging Oke’s longstanding role in the legislature, Adelabu urged continued dedication to policies that promote inclusive growth and development.

He also expressed confidence in his capacity as the Director General of APC Gubernatorial Campaign Council, saying the lawmaker will deliver beyond expectations.
