APC Convention: Abuja’s Eagle Square Comes Alive With Colours, Activity
Preparations are in full swing at Eagle Square in Abuja ahead of the 2026 national convention of the All Progressives Congress (APC), scheduled to begin on Friday, March 27, 2026.
The venue has been decorated in the party’s colours—red, green, white, and blue—signalling readiness for the high-profile political gathering.
Party flags have been hoisted across the square, fluttering in the bright and breezy morning weather.
Designated areas for voting have also been arranged, with pavilions set up and clearly marked for each state.
Security presence is heavy, with personnel from the police, Department of State Services (DSS), Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), and other paramilitary agencies deployed across the venue.
Members of the Convention Venue Committee, led by Ogun State Governor Dapo Abiodun, were on ground inspecting preparations and ensuring everything is in order.
Roads leading to Eagle Square have been barricaded and placed under tight security, with vehicular movement restricted and many residents forced to trek to their destinations.
