Sponsored: Why Dr. Sanusi Is Most Qualified To Represent Olorunda At Osun House of Assembly
For over four decades, the Sanusi family name has remained woven into the fabric of progressive politics, grassroots loyalty, and community development in Osun State. Today, Dr. Sesan Sanusi stands as one of the enduring products of that legacy, combining intellectual excellence, philanthropy, youth empowerment, and unwavering commitment to the progressive family.
Holding a Doctorate degree in Mathematics from the University of South Wales, United Kingdom, Dr. Sesan Sanusi has consistently positioned himself as more than a politician.
Across the city of Osogbo especially Olorunda Local Government and beyond, he has emerged as a grassroots mobiliser, mentor, community developer, and advocate for sustainable empowerment.
His political foundation traces back to a deeply rooted progressive heritage. His father, Late Chief G.O. Sanusi, remained a loyal figure within the progressive movement until his passing in 2017, establishing a family tradition of service and political consistency spanning over 40 years.
Over the years, Dr. Sanusi has translated that legacy into practical interventions that directly impact ordinary people.
In February 2018, he pioneered one of the earliest large-scale free medical outreaches across Osogbo, Ilie, Oba-Ile, and Oba-Oke, providing healthcare services to more than 3,000 beneficiaries. During the same year’s governorship election, he further demonstrated commitment to the progressive structure by deploying mobile medical support teams alongside APC campaign activities across strategic wards and campaign locations in Osogbo.
Beyond politics, his passion for education and technology development has remained visible. In 2019, he organised and sponsored the first African Code Week in Osun State, empowering students from 16 secondary schools with coding knowledge and digital literacy skills. Through the Kajola Cooperative and Empowerment Scheme launched the same year, several APC members within Osogbo and Olorunda Local Governments have continued to benefit from interest-free microcredit support, strengthening grassroots economic participation.
His educational interventions expanded further in 2021 through intensive coding and ICT training programmes for teachers and students across several Osogbo schools, including Fakunle Comprehensive High School, Osogbo Grammar School, Ataoja School of Science, St. James Grammar School, and Anglican Commercial Grammar School.
In 2022, Dr. Sanusi facilitated investment in rice farming and processing initiatives aimed at creating employment opportunities for youths within Olorunda Local Government. During the 2023 General Election season, he also supported educational advancement through the distribution of textbooks to members of the Association of Tutorial School Operators in Osun State.
As conversations around digital transformation continue globally, Dr. Sanusi sustained his youth-focused initiatives by organising cybersecurity training for youths in Olorunda Local Government in 2024, preparing participants for opportunities within the growing digital economy.
His community interventions extended into infrastructural support in 2025 with the rehabilitation of two community boreholes to improve access to clean water. In the same year, he facilitated the facelift of the Automobile Workshop at the Industrial Development Centre (IDC), Osogbo, further supporting vocational training and youth employment opportunities.
In 2026, he again returned to healthcare intervention by organising another major free medical outreach that benefited over 1,500 elderly residents across Olorunda Local Government.
Beyond organised programmes, many beneficiaries continue to acknowledge his mentorship role in helping youths secure opportunities for higher education both within Nigeria and abroad.
Through his professional network and influence, several young people have reportedly gained employment opportunities across different sectors.
His growing reputation for philanthropy and community service earned him an Award of Excellence from the Sabo/Kolabalogun Community, a recognition many supporters describe as evidence that impactful service naturally attracts greater responsibility.
To many within the progressive family, Dr. Sesan Sanusi represents a blend of intellectual capacity, tested loyalty, grassroots accessibility, and developmental vision.
As political conversations around the Olorunda State Constituency continue to evolve, supporters insist his years of service, empowerment initiatives, and sustained community engagement position him as a familiar and trusted figure within the progressive movement.
