Osun Election: Davido Urges INEC to Use Front Camera On BVAS
Nigerian Afrobeats singer, David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has urged officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to use the front camera of the Bimodal Voter Accreditation System (BVAS) when the device’s other camera is not functioning.
Davido made the call in a post on his X handle on Saturday, as voting continued in the Osun governorship election.
“If your BVAS camera is not working, please tell the officials to use front camera. It is very active and fast!” he stated.
The singer’s comment came amid reports of technical challenges with BVAS devices at some polling units across the state.
The BVAS is deployed by INEC for voter accreditation using fingerprint and facial authentication, among other election-related functions.
Davido has in recent days commented on developments surrounding the Osun governorship election, including urging local and international bodies to closely monitor the conduct of the exercise.
