‘Our Children Must Return Safely’ – Bala Mohammed Visits Gov Makinde Over Oyo Abduction
Bauchi State Governor, Senator Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed, has led a high-powered delegation of the Allied Peoples Movement (APM) to Ibadan, Oyo State, to express solidarity with Governor Seyi Makinde following the abduction of schoolchildren in Oriire Local Government Area.
Speaking during the visit, Mohammed described the incident as a painful tragedy that has deeply affected not only Oyo State but the entire country. He stressed that attacks on innocent children pose a serious threat to the nation’s future and called for collective efforts to combat insecurity.
“Our children must return safely,” the governor declared, assuring the people of Oyo State that they are not alone in this difficult period.
The delegation, which included APM National Chairman Yusuf Mamman Dantalle and other senior party officials, met with Governor Makinde to convey their sympathy and offer prayers for the safe release of the abducted pupils.
Mohammed emphasized that security challenges should not be politicised, urging leaders across party lines to work together to protect lives and restore public confidence.
He noted that the safety of citizens remains a shared responsibility and called for greater cooperation among governments, security agencies, and stakeholders to confront the menace of kidnapping and other security threats across the country.
The visit underscored the need for national unity in addressing insecurity and reaffirmed the APM’s support for the people and government of Oyo State as efforts continue to secure the children’s freedom.
