Osun Retired Educationist, Madam Celinah Alaba Adedapo, Dies
An Osun State-based retired teacher, Madam Celinah Alaba Adedapo, has passed away.
Madam Adedapo died on Thursday, March 12, 2026, peacefully in Osogbo, the Osun State capital. She was 76 years old.
Born in March and died in March, Mama passed away 17 days to her 77th birthday anniversary.
A statement by the deceased’s son, Olumuyiwa Adenrele Adedapo, said: “The Adedapo and Oluwole families announce with deep sorrow but with gratitude to God for a life well spent, the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother and matriarch, Madam Celinah Alaba Adedapo nee Oluwole, who died on Thursday, March 12, 2026.
According to Olumuyiwa, Mama was born on March 29, 1949, in Ijesa-Isu, Ikole Local Government Area of Ekiti State.
Olumuyiwa, who noted that Mama Adedapo lived a life defined by service, faith, and dedication to the growth of others, said: “As a retired educationist, Mama devoted many years to nurturing young minds and contributing to the development of education in her community and beyond.
“Nearly six decades ago, she got married to Pa Albert Adeleke Adedapo, a retired Civil Servant and Head of the Eesa Compound in Aagba, Boripe Local Government Area of Osun State. Together, they built a home founded on strong Christian values, love, discipline, and service to humanity.
“Mama Adedapo was a devoted Christian and a respected member of the Methodist Cathedral Church, Isale-Aro, Osogbo, where she and her husband played active and prominent roles in church life. Her commitment to God and community earned her several professional and religious awards in recognition of her dedication to service.
“Known for her humility, kindness, and generosity of spirit, Mama Adedapo lived a life marked by love, peace, and self-sacrifice. She touched countless lives through her guidance, compassion, and unwavering faith. Mama is survived by her husband, children, grandchildren, siblings, in-laws, extended family members, and many others whose lives were impacted by her remarkable life and legacy.”
Olumuyiwa also disclosed that details of the burial and funeral arrangements will be announced by the family in due course.
He added that the family appreciates the prayers, love, and support received during “this difficult time,” asking that Madam Adedapo be remembered for the values she lived by and the lives she touched.
Among numerous family members that survived Madam Adedapo include a Lagos-based Businessman, Olumuyiwa Adenrele Adedapo, and wife, Bolanle, Restauranteur; a Director in the Osun State Civil Service, Olori Fadesayo Bamidele Adeniyi, husband, a Traditional Ruler, the Alagbeda of Agbeda-Ijesa, Oba Adesoji Chars Adeniyi; an Engineer, Oluwatosin Joseph Adedapo and wife, Oluwaseun, a School Proprietress; a son, Abimbola Emmanuel Adedapo and wife, Uvieroghene, a Legal Practitioner; and Olaide Ebenezer Adedapo and wife, Victoria, who are both Legal Practitioners.
