The All Progressives Congress in Osun State has organized a sensitisation campaign in Ikire to educate residents on the development plans of the party’s governorship candidate, Bola Oyebamiji.

The campaign, which was held at the home town of the governorship candidate, was done to assure residents of the party’s promises of inclusive governance and accelerated development.

Speaking at the event, the APC Osun West Senatorial Candidate, Akin Ogunbiyi, maintained confidence in Oyebamiji’s qualifications which they say will ensure a favourable outcome in the August 15th governorship election.

He said, “Osun has a lot of resources which have not been harnessed. With the coming of Oyebamiji as a governor of the state, I’m very positive that people will get the benefit of democracy in terms of development in various sectors of the economy.”

Ogunbiyi also appealed to Osun State residents to shun violence and maintain peaceful campaign processes which would further ensure their victory in the forthcoming polls.

“We know when you’re holding something and you are about to lose it, you will resort to violence. This is what we are seeing from the Accord Party, but our people have to be very patient so we can take over a peaceful state.” Ogunbiyi explained.

Also speaking, an APC Chieftain, Asifat Akinola, said the turnout from residents at the campaign showcased the massive support the party is getting at the grassroot level.

The organising committee described the campaign as a source of pride for the community and expressed optimism that his emergence would translate into greater development opportunities for the state.

According to the Chairman of the Committee, Ibrahim Akinwunmi, “This is the first time that a candidate will come from Ikire and we have never witnessed it within our time. This is the time for Ikire people to vote immensely for Bola Oyebamiji.”

The Chairperson of Irewole Local Government, Esther Okunola, added that the sensitisation campaign will ensure that Ikire residents fulfill their civic responsibility.
