Gov. Makinde Plotting To Remove Ladoja From Olubadan Throne – Fayose
Former Ekiti State Governor, Ayo Fayose, has claimed that Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State is allegedly planning the removal of the Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Rahidi Adewolu Ladoja.
Fayose made the allegation via X on Sunday, stating that the purported plan is set to commence this week, with a government query expected to be issued against the Olubadan.
He cited the monarch’s absence at a recent, controversial coronation of High Chiefs in Ibadanland, held two weeks ago, along with other unspecified allegations.
In his tweet, Fayose warned: “As for us, we will be watching the Sìgìdì of Seyi Makinde tó fẹ́ se eré ẹ̀tẹ́…”, a Yoruba phrase loosely interpreted as a caution against what he described as a calculated political maneuver.
Oba Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja was crowned the 44th Olubadan of Ibadanland on 26 September 2025.
The Oyo State Government has not issued any response to the allegations, and Governor Makinde has yet to comment publicly.
