A group within the All Progressives Congress (APC), in Osun State, Progressives e-Group has expressed confidence on the party’s chances to reclaim power in the 2026 governorship election.
This is just as the group drummed up support for the party’s candidate, Bola Oyebamiji, to defeat other candidates in the poll.
A statement by the National Coordinator of the group, Abiodun Collins, party leaders and stakeholders who spoke at the group’s end-of-the-year dinner and political discourse sought for continued internal party cohesion to achieve victory.
Speaking at the event, a former Governor of Osun State and Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Alhaji Gboyega Oyetola, said the APC was fully prepared to return to power in the state.
Oyetola, who was represented by the Executive Director, Projects Implementation, Federal Housing Authority, Oluremi Omowaiye, described the party as a strong opposition capable of providing effective governance.
Omowaiye criticised the current administration, accusing it of weakening state institutions and delivering substandard infrastructure projects.
Corroborating him, the APC candidate represented by an ex-lawmaker, Tunde Olatunji urged party members to remain united and disciplined, noting that unity is key to delivering for the party in the forthcoming election.
Earlier, the National Coordinator of the Progressives e-Group, Collins, said the event was organised to strengthen internal unity within the party and promote issue-based political engagement ahead of the governorship election.
