Finally, Ganduje Recognizes Emir Sanusi

Former Governor of Kano State, Umar Abdullahi Ganduje, who dethroned the 16th Emir of Kano Muhammadu Sanusi II in 2020, has recognised him as Emir while dropping protocols at Government House, Kano on Tuesday.

The dramatic atmosphere took place at the Ante-Chamber, Government House, when Ganduje, recognised former Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Muhammadu Sanusi II, as the Emir of Kano, sending heavy echoes of laughter through the Ante-Chamber.

Ganduje made the declaration during the swearing-in ceremony of Hon. Murtala Sule Garo, as the new Deputy Governor of Kano state.

Recall that Ganduje had dethroned Emir Muhammadu Sanusi II, as the Emir of Kano in 2020, and installed Emir Aminu Ado Bayero, the first son of the late Emir Abdullahi Ado Bayero.

Speaking on Tuesday, Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf charged the newly sworn-in Deputy Governor to work diligently towards advancing the development of the state.

Yusuf said his administration remains committed to ensuring that the people of the state benefit from the dividends of democracy through impactful policies and programmes.

He urged the new deputy governor to bring his experience to bear in supporting government efforts aimed at improving the welfare of citizens.

Responding to the newly sworn-in Deputy Governor, Murtala Sule Garo, pledged to contribute his quota to the growth and development of Kano State.

He expressed appreciation to the governor for the confidence reposed in him and the opportunity to serve in the administration.

The ceremony was graced by the Deputy President of the Senate, Barau Jibrin, former Kano governors, Malam Ibrahim Shekarau, Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, Speaker Kano State House of Assembly Jibril Ismail Falgore, among other dignitaries and party stakeholders.

Emir Sanusi, Ganduje, Senator Barau Jibrin, Former Deputy Governors, Emirs and other high-placed dignitaries, were among thousands of people that stormed Kano Government House to witness the swearing-in ceremony of Sule Garo, as the new Deputy Governor of Kano state.

The oath of office was administered by the Chief Judge of the state, Justice Dije Abdu Aboki, in the presence of top government officials, lawmakers, traditional rulers, and party stakeholders.
