ADC Guber Candidate Unveils Manifesto, Pledges Economic Revival, Power Reform In Osun
The governorship candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), in Osun State Rt. Hon. Dr. Najeem Salaam, has unveiled his manifesto in Osogbo, Osun State, with a pledge to reposition the state for economic growth, job creation, and improved governance.
Speaking at the presentation held at the Nigeria Union of Journalists Press Centre in Osogbo, Salaam said the moment marked a turning point for Osun, stressing the need for purposeful leadership to move the state from stagnation to transformation.
He said Osun is richly endowed with human and natural resources but continues to face challenges such as unemployment, infrastructure deficits, insecurity, and limited economic opportunities.
Salaam noted that his administration would focus on unlocking the state’s potential through strategic planning, accountability, and inclusive governance.
He promised a people-centred government that prioritises workers’ welfare, pensioners, farmers, youths, and women, while also strengthening agriculture as a driver of economic development.
On energy, the ADC candidate described electricity as central to development, pledging to pursue an ambitious power agenda aimed at achieving round-the-clock electricity supply through partnerships and investment in alternative energy.
He said stable power supply would drive industrialisation, attract investors, and create jobs across the state.
Salaam added that his manifesto, which he described as a development blueprint, was developed through consultations and reflects the aspirations of the people.
He said it covers key sectors including education, healthcare, infrastructure, security, youth empowerment, and investment promotion.
According to him, the plan also aims to rebuild trust between government and citizens through transparency and accountability.
The ADC candidate called for collective responsibility in building the state, saying development cannot be achieved by government alone but requires the active participation of all stakeholders.
He urged residents to support a shared vision for a more prosperous Osun State.
