Osun: Register For Free Medical Check-Up, Adeleke Tells Business Owners
The Osun State government has directed all business associations across the state’s 30 local government areas, including the area councils, to register for a free medical check-up.
The acting Chairman of the Osun Internal Revenue Service, Hon. Solanke Hazmat, in a statement on Thursday, May 29, said the initiative aligns with the government’s Corporate Social Responsibility, focusing on education, healthcare, and other laudable programmes.
He explained that the free medical outreach, supported by Electronic Collections (ECG), will cover the headquarters of the nine federal constituencies in Ilesa, Ikirun, Ila, Iwo, Ede, Ijebu-Jesa, Ikire, Ife, and Osogbo, the state capital.
Hazmat expressed concern over the stress and nonchalant attitude of most business owners in the state towards health check-ups, urging them to take advantage of the free medical check-up scheduled for Thursday, June 12, 2025, at 9:00 AM.
He stated, “It is observed that a lot of business owners across the state have not been paying attention to their health nor performing any form of check-up until they break down. His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Osun State, Senator Ademola Adeleke, noticed this trend and instructed that we conduct a free full health check-up for all business owners in the state because business owners are the lifeblood of the economy of this state.”
The medical check-up will include, but is not limited to, blood pressure checks and counselling, blood sugar tests, obesity checks, BMI assessment, vision tests, clinical examinations, liver function tests, kidney function tests, lipid profile, urinalysis, cardiac stress tests, and general check-ups. Hazmat assured that all registered participants will benefit from the exercise.
He noted that the venues for the nine federal constituencies will be communicated soon and urged interested business owners and managers to register at www.ecg.ng/freecheckup before June 6 to ensure effective planning and the provision of high-quality medical services for all participants across the state.
