Bandits Parade Over 150 Kidnapped Villagers In Zamfara Forest, Demand Govt Negotiation
More than 150 villagers kidnapped from different communities in Zamfara State are being held by bandits in terrible conditions, according to a video shared online.
Security analyst, Bakatsine shared the update on X on Tuesday.
He said the victims, including men, women, and children from Madaro, Maguru, Kyambarawa, Janbako, and other villages are being held in the forest by a group of armed bandits.
In the video, which was posted by a bandit who identified himself as “Ibrahim Musa 099” on TikTok, the victims were seen tied up and chained.
Many looked sick, weak, and hungry, while children and their parents cried for help. The bandit used the video to call for talks with the government.
“150+ villagers from Madaro, Maguru, Kyambarawa, Janbako and others all in Zamfara, are in bandits captivity. Chained, tied, starving and sick.
“Bandit “Ibrahim Musa 099” posted the video on TikTok calling for govt talks. Children and parents cry in the forest with no food or medicine,” Bakatsine wrote.
Authorities are yet to release an official statement on the incident.
