Woman Dies In Hotel, Male Companion Flees
A young woman was yesterday found dead in a hotel room in Ore, the headquarters of Odigbo Local Government Area of Ondo State, after checking in with a male companion.
The discovery was made in the afternoon when hotel workers, worried after repeated knocks went unanswered, opened the room and met the woman lying motionless on the bed.
The hotel, located along the busy Ore–Okitipupa Road, is widely used by travellers and residents.
According to reports, there were no visible injuries on the deceased, a situation that has left staff and residents unsettled as they continue to speculate about what may have happened.
A hotel source said the woman had earlier checked in with a man identified as Sodiq.
“They arrived together. But when staff went into the room later, the lady was found unresponsive,” the source said.
Sodiq was said to have fled the premises shortly after the incident became known, prompting concern among security operatives searching for him.
A security source confirmed that the woman’s body has been deposited at the Ore mortuary.
He said preliminary checks revealed no external marks, adding that an autopsy has been scheduled to ascertain the cause of death.
