Easter: Osun APC Congratulates Christians, Urges Residents To reject All Forms Of Provocation, Political Manipulation

The Osun State chapter of the All Progressives Congress(APC) has made a plea for peace, unity and shared responsibility, emphasizing that no meaningful development can take place in an environment filled with chaos and disunity.
This Easter goodwill message by the state party chairman, Sooko Tajudeen Lawal, is contained in a statement issued by the party’s Director of Media and Publicity, Mogaji Kola Olabisi, on Sunday, in the commemoration of the celebration of Easter by the Christians in the state.
The party extended warm wishes to all the Christian faithful for experiencing another season that honours the resurrection of Jesus Christ.
Lawal described this season as a divine reminder that after suffering comes hope, after sacrifice comes salvation and after hardship comes restoration.
The Osun State APC chairman expressed concerns about the increasing tension, political intolerance and divisive behaviours that are threatening the social fabric of Osun State under the current Peoples Democratic Party PDP-led administration.
In Lawal’s words: “Easter is more than just a time for celebration; it’s a moment for reflection. We must ask ourselves: what kind of society are we creating?” the statement emphasized.
The state party chairman pointed out that no one can talk about growth when his state is suffering from political intimidation, suppression of opposing voices and intentional efforts to destabilize communities.
He urged the residents of the state to reject all forms of provocation and political manipulation, asserting that peace is not a luxury but a necessity for any serious-minded government or community.
According to him: “We call on the people of Osun State to rise above fear and division. Peace is non-negotiable. Without peace, there will be no development. No jobs. No stable economy. No future for our children”.
While encouraging Christians to truly embrace peace and not to leave out the core messages of Easter like love, sacrifice, humility, and unity, Lawal emphasized that the path forward for Osun State lies in rebuilding on the solid principles of justice, equity and truth.
The state APC chairman also offered heartfelt prayers for divine healing over the land, hoping for the restoration of peace, economic growth and a leadership that genuinely prioritizes the needs of the people.
Lawal reaffirmed the party’s steadfast commitment to being a voice of reason and a bulwark against oppression and misrule, while also staying dedicated to the unity and prosperity of the state.
