Police Debunks Misleading Information Against Officers, Warns Perpetrators

The Zone( X1 ) Police Headquarters in Osun, on Thursday, debunked misleading information against its officers who were alleged to have carried out several arrest of innocent citizens in the state and beyond.
The Zone’s Police Public Relation Officer (PPRO) , DSP Ade Ogunyemi, gave the clarification in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Thursday in Osogbo .
Ogunyemi said that officers of the Nigeria Police Zone XI are known to be disciplined and trained on the need to carry out their duties within the armpit of the law and professionally.
He said that information about the police arresting people at random with a list in Osogbo, Ikirun or any other part of Osun, Oyo or Lagos state is fake unfounded .
” It is totally misleading. It is also a deliberate attempt to mislead and incite the public against the police.
” The arrest made by the police was one Bintu Raji who secretly recorded the nudity of one Dr Kaola and using that to threatening her and collecting money from her ,” Ogunyemi said .
According to him, we only pick up one Bintu Raji who was charged to court immediately for the offense she was alleged and no any other person was arrested.
” The said lady was arrested , investigated and charged to court while the case is still pending. She is the only one arrested in the case.
” Also, members of the public are urged to entirely disregard the fake news and refrain from sharing or promoting such unfounded and baseless information .”
The Police PPRO further warned bloggers and other misleading channels not to dragged the name of police into the mud by given misleading and fake information about the police capable of disrupting peace and unity.
Ogunyemi, however, said the police would continue to discharged its sole responsibility of protecting the general public and ensuring peace and unity .
