This is Golden Redemption Time – Pastor Elias tells President Boakai

It was another historic event in Liberia when a Baptist Deacon, His Excellency Joseph Nyuma Boakai was inaugurated as Liberia’s 26th President on Monday, 22nd January 2024 in Monrovia in front of global leaders including the General Secretary of the Baptist World Alliance (BWA). Among the attendees are Dr. Elijah Brown, Pastor Elias Apetogbo, General Secretary of the All Africa Baptist Fellowship (AABF), Rev. Dr. Israel Akanji, and others.
On the eve of his inauguration, a global Baptist delegation met with the new President for prayers and counsel, with a special exhortation from Reverend Brown. A prayer was offered to Dr. Elijah Brown, 79 years old, President of the oldest African Republic. This was referred to as the golden redemption period for the Baptist family in governance, by Pastor Elias. The delegation gave the President a gift.
Furthermore, the president was invited to the annual gathering of the BWA scheduled for Lagos, Nigeria between July 7th and 12, 2024. In his remarks, President Boakai expressed gratitude for his Baptist family’s generosity and promised to represent Christ throughout his administration. He also offered souvenirs that were symbolic of his administration’s mission.
Earlier on Sunday, 21st January 2024, the leaders joined the President-elect for a thanksgiving service at Effort Baptist Church, Monrovia. The service witnessed a great outpouring of Worship, Words, Prayers, and wise counsel. The service was well attended by the President-elect (His Excellency Joseph Nyuma Boakai Sr.) and his wife, the Vice President-elect (Honorable Jeremiah Kpan Koung) and his wife (a Baptist member at Providence Baptist Church), the immediate Past Vice President (Mrs. Charles Taylor), and the former President of Liberia (Her Excellency Ellen Johnson Sirleaf).
According to the statement released and signed by Mr. Agogo Iyiola David of the AABF Office, the meetings were facilitated by the office of All Africa Baptist Fellowship through Rev. Dr. Samuel Reeves, The President of Liberia Baptist Missionary and Educational Convention, also in attendance was the President of Sierra Leone Baptist Convention Rev. Dr. Joseph Samuel Formah, President of the North American Baptist Federation (NABF), Rev. Emmet Dunn, Rev. Dr. Olu Menjah (Immediate Past President of the Liberia Baptist Missionary and Educational Convention) among others.
