Adeleke Inaugurates OSHIA Board Members, Reiterates Commitment To People’s Well-being

The Osun Governor, Ademola Adeleke, on Tuesday, inaugurated board members for the Osun State Health Insurance Agency, OSHIA.

Adeleke who was represented by his deputy, Prince Kola Adewusi reinstated the commitment of his administration to the well-being of the people of the state.

Adeleke, however, expressed his confidence in the newly inaugurated board members, just as he wished them success in the task ahead.

He said: “We are expecting the best from you all, it is a very big task but with the caliber of people sworn in now I have no fear.

“We wish you well ahead of your assignment and we are looking forward to a better performance.”

He, therefore urged the newly inaugurated boad members to use their wealth of experience to ensure the agency records success in all ramifications.

Speaking at the inauguration held at the Exco Lounge, Office of the Governor, Abere, the Executive Secretary of the Agency, Dr. Rasaq Akindele, stressed that the state has the lowest subscription of health insurance in the country.

Akindele said, “Osun state has the lowest premium of health insurance in the country, it charges 1.5% of the basic salary for the formal sector, and for the informal sector the tariff they pay is N12,066 per person for a year and #57,600 for the whole year.

“Most members of the OSHIA board are statutory, it’s not like the usual political board, the reason for that is not far fetched, it’s an agency that will take care of all the civil servants and also non civil servants enrolled with the agency.”

Speaking on behalf of the committee, the Board Chairman, Dr Muiwa Oladimeji appreciated the governor for counting worthy saying they would do everything within their reach to ensure they contributed immensely for the agency to succeed.
