IGP's Wife, Egbetokun, Empowers Deceased Police Officers’ Families In Osun

–Distributes Sewing Machines, Grinding Machines, Makeup Tools, Rice , Others

As part of the efforts to cater for the families of police officers in absence of their husbands, the Police Officers Wives Association (POWA) has empowered families of deceased police officers in Osun State.

POWA National President and wife of the Inspector General of Police, Dr. Mrs. Elizabeth Egbetokun, presented empowerment items to the beneficiaries during her one-day working visit to Osun State.

Presenting the items at the Police headquarters, Osogbo, Egbetokun said she was on her working visit to the State to support and empower the wives of the law enforcement officers.

Egbetokun also charged the women to engage in agriculture in order to enhance agricultural development in the country.

She encouraged women to utilize their resources and skills and engage in farming to enhance food, nutrition and security of Nigeria through Young Women in Agriculture (YWA) initiative for rural women in agriculture.

Egbetokun said: “Am encouraging women to venture into farming through ”Young Women in Agriculture (YWA) initiative under the Police Officers’ Wives Association (POWA), to promote food security in our country.

“It’s with great pleasure that I am here before you today as the National President of the Police Officers’ Wives Association (POWA), representing the dedicated spouses of our nation’s law enforcement officers. As we embark on this working visit to the Osun State Police Command, I extend my warmest gratitude to the Commissioner of Police, Osun State Police Command; CP Umar Abba Muhammed for hosting us.

“The women of POWA are the unsung heroes behind the badge, providing unwavering support to our spouses as they uphold the law and protect our communities. Our association serves as a vital network of support, fostering unity, resilience, and empowerment among police families nationwide.

“CP Umar Abba Muhammed, your leadership is pivotal in ensuring the safety and security of Osun State, and we commend your tireless efforts in this regard. Together, we can further strengthen the bond between law enforcement and the communities they serve.

“I look forward to fruitful discussions and partnerships that will benefit the brave men and women of the Osun State Police Command. Let us continue to stand united in our commitment to building safer, stronger, and more resilient communities,” she added

The items distributed to empower widows and less privileged are; sewing machines, Grinding machines, Makeup tools, dryers hundreds of 25kg bags of rice among others.
