Traders Count Losses As Fire Razes Shops In Osun
About six shops were razed in the early morning inferno that occurred at Lagere Junction in Ile-Ife, Osun State.
It was gathered that the fire started around 3am on Tuesday and caused panic among the residents of the area.
Consequently, shops in the vicinity that had left their lights on before closing were engulfed in flames.
It was gathered that properties including phones, cloths, building materials, shoes and others were destroyed by the fire.
It was reported that the fire destroyed various properties, including phones, clothing, building materials, shoes, and other items.
A shop owner, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said the fire started shortly after the electricity was restored to the area.
He shared the devastating impact the fire had on his livelihood.
With tears streaming down his face, he expressed his deep sorrow, saying, “This is a heartbreaking day for me. I had just purchased some shoes yesterday afternoon. Now, everything has been destroyed by the fire.”
