Gunmen Attack Quarry Workers In Edo, Kill Police Inspector
A Police inspector was reportedly killed, and two others including an expatriate, were injured during an attack by gunmen on quarry workers in Ihievbe-Ogben, Owan East Local Government Area of Edo State.
CityMirrorNews gathered that the attack occurred when the workers were ambushed while returning to their base camp after completing their day’s work.
Local sources confirmed that the deceased officer died on the spot.
On the other hand, another police officer and an expatriate sustained injuries.
Both victims are currently receiving treatment at an undisclosed hospital.
Edo State Police Command spokesperson Moses Yamu confirmed the incident.
He stated that an investigation is ongoing, and efforts to apprehend the assailants are being carried out in collaboration with the military.
