Two-Storey Building Collapses In Lagos
The two-storey building on Monday collapsed on Amusu Street, in the Orile Iganmu area of Lagos State.
According to the report, the incident happened in the early hours of Monday, October 14.
An official of the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA) who confirmed the incident anonymously said no casualty was recorded.
In a viral video trending on social media, the building collapsed with some occupants and onlookers scampering for safety.
“I can confirm to you that the incident happened this morning but there were no casualties. An evacuation already took place before the collapse.”
The Agency’s LRT alongside, LASG FIRE, LASBCA and Nigeria Police Force are responders at the scene with a recommendation of evacuation of the site to avert secondary incidents.
Further Assessment has been conducted at the scene on the adjoining two-storey building which reveals that the building is distressed and inhabitable for occupants.
