Lagos Man Docked For Allegedly Getting Lover’s Friend Drunk, Raping Her
A 29-year-old man, Femi Falomo, has been arraigned before an Ikeja Chief Magistrates’ Court in Lagos for allegedly raping his lover’s friend.
The defendant, a businessman who resides at Alhaji Abe Deen Close, Igan, Igando Road, Lagos, is standing trial on a one-count charge of rape.
The prosecutor, ASP Adegoke Ademigbuji, told the court that the defendant committed the offence on Jan. 1, at Governor’s Road, Ikotun, Lagos.
Ademigbuji alleged that the defendant lured his lover’s friend, a 20-year-old woman stranded on the road after a crossover service, to a hotel, got her drunk, and raped her.
He added that the offence contravened Section 260 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.
He, however, pleaded not guilty to the charge.
The Chief Magistrate, Mr L. A. Owolabi, granted the defendant bail in the sum of N700,000 with two sureties in like sum.
Owolabi adjourned the case until March 4 for mention.
