‘My Central Project Of Providing Sound, Significant Representation Intact’, Osun Lawmaker Declares

The member representing Oriade State Constituency at the Osun State House of Assembly, Honourable Kanmi Ajibola, has described an alleged fabricated story flying around the social media pages as another episode of lies.

The lawmaker, who is also Chairman, House Committee on Judiciary and Legal matters stated this while reacting to a statement authored and signed by a group called Oris Solidarity Forum.

He called on people of Oriade State Constituency especially the respected and valued youth of the state constituency to disregard such window-dressing story.

“I want to unequivocally state that I have been consistently and periodically had engagements with my people. We meet from time to time and this, I am intentional about as it is geared towards bringing the dividends of Democracy to our door steps in Oriade”

He explained that not quite long ago, he met with the leadership and members of PDP in Oriade State Constituency where he explained his determination to float a programme which all and sundry across the length and breath of Oriade State Constituency would benefit from.

Hon. Kanmi therefore reiterated his commitment to continue to avail himself for the people of his constituency just as he assured them “he would never neglect or ignore our reputation and noble fathers and mothers as well as youth who during the electioneering campaigns, stood firmly and fought very hard for my emergence as the Lawmaker representing Oriade State Constituency”.

” I took time to painstakingly evaluate and examine a non scientific statement signed by one Sodiq Lawal who was engrossed to author a lifeless piece riddled with falsehood but has suffered a set back”

In the same spirit,the Lawmaker reminded the public about his Mandate as a legislator “I have three major functions to execute as law empowers, these are: Lawmaking, Oversight and representation and as a matter of responsibility in the 8th Assembly under well coordinated leadership of the speaker, Right Honourable Adewale Egbedun, my impact in the number of laws the assembly has passed has been quite indelible.

“For instance, as a chairman house committee on Judiciary and legal matter,the committee under my purview has presented a number of reports geared towards the uplift of Osun State, this was apart of my sound and significant contribution when the present assembly passed into Osun State crest and logo law, just like my noteworthy contributions towards the eventual passage of people living with the disability.”

The member representing Oriade State Constituency Honourable Kanmi Ajibola also added that he was of the active lawmakers whose his contribution when Osun State Public/Political Office Holders Reviewed Remuneration Package (Amendment No. 2) Bill 2024 that was recently passed into law.

“In the first week of the Osun State House of Assembly inauguration on the 6th of June 2023, for the purpose of making them comply with the Nigerian Constitution, the House immediately amended about 23 laws, based on the legal contribution of Kanmi Ajibola to the Osun State Legal System as postulated in the case of Kanmi Ajibola versus Osun State Government in Suit No.HIL/M47/2016.

“This is subject to confirmation from the Leadership of the Osun State House of Assembly, about forty bills have been passed so far, Kanmi Ajibola made good contributions to their passages.

“Kanmi Ajibola has sponsored two bills, namely:
1. OSUN STATE HIGH COURT REGISTRARS, CUSTOMARY COURT OF APPEAL REGISTRARS, OSUN STATE MAGISTRATES AND DISTRICT CUSTOMARY COURT PRESIDENTS RETIREMENT AGE BILL 2023

2. OSUN STATE SKATING {RESTRICTION} BILL, 2023.
One of these BILLS has been assented to Law.

“Kanmi Ajibola is consistently using his legislative position to make remarkable contributions to the Nigerian Legal System.

“The first of its kinds from the Oriade Constituency representation, Kanmi Ajibola has 19 Personal Assistants among the Oriade Youths in which the Salaries of about Six Hundred Thousand Naira {N 600,000.00} are being paid every month.

“Besides, among others, Kanmi Ajibola has been consistently financially engaging the residents and indigenes of Oriade within his reasonable and affordable capacities.

“Within his reasonable capacity, Kanmi Ajibola has made some financial contributions to the needs of some Association and Communities in Oriade Local Government.

“In his professional calling, Kanmi Ajibola has been using his Legal Career to serve the youths of Oriade Free of Charge”.
